Policies
Submitting a deposit or completing a purchase with us serves as acknowledgment and acceptance of the policies outlined below
We offer three tiers for reserving one of our goats: Reservations, Priority Waitlist, and Free Waitlist.
Reservations
A Reservation is for those interested in a specific kid from a particular doe. A $125 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your animal, which goes toward the purchase price. However in the event that the specific kid you reserved is unavailable in the given season or doesn't meet our standards of quality, you will have the option of a full refund or choosing from available animals that season before they are offered to the priority wait list.
Priority Wait list
Once kidding season is complete, the remaining available animals will be offered to our Priority Waitlist one person at a time, in order of sign up and deposit received. A $50 non refundable deposit is required to secure your spot, which goes toward the purchase of your animal. Each person will have up to 48 hours to respond and make their selection. Those who respond may choose their preferred animal(s) and secure them with a 50% deposit before the next person is contacted. If we do not produce any animals that match what you have specifically requested for that season, you may choose to receive a full refund of your deposit or carry it over to the following year. Please note that if we do not hear back within the 48-hour window, your spot will be forfeited and we will move on to the next person on the list. No refund will be issued for lack of response on your end.
Free Wait List
After the Priority Waitlist has been exhausted, a mass email will be sent to everyone on the Free Waitlist at the same time. There is no priority sequence for this tier, and remaining animals will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Free waitlist members will have one week from the date of that email before any remaining animals are posted publicly for sale to non-waitlist buyers.
Deposit and Payment
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold an animal. Please only place a deposit if you are certain you would like to purchase the goat, as cancellations by the buyer will result in forfeiture of the deposit. The full payment must be made before the animal leaves our farm. We accept cash and e-transfers to farm@bayviewsprings.ca. In the rare event that we are unable to provide a goat due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the buyer will receive a full refund of their deposit.
Animal Registration and Care
Registered animals will be registered with the CLRC, disbudded, and tattooed. We do our best with disbudding, however scurs can still develop. Please note that registration papers take time to process and we appreciate your patience. We do not vaccinate kids prior to leaving our farm. As the buyer, you accept the animal as is and agree to take full responsibility for their care from the date of sale forward.
Health and Guarantees
Our goats are in good health when they leave our farm. However, as we cannot control the stress of travel or how they are managed after leaving our care, we are unable to offer further health guarantees. If you would like a veterinary health check prior to purchase, this can be arranged at the buyer's expense. Please note that we do not guarantee height, conformation scores, show wins, or milk stars.
Pickup and Boarding
Kids must be picked up within 14 days of being ready. If pickup is delayed beyond this period, a boarding fee of $5 per day will apply. After 30 days, the sale and deposit will be forfeited unless alternative arrangements have been made with us in advance.
Bio-Security
Out of respect for the health and safety of our herd, we do not permit farm visits. We have invested greatly into our animals and cannot risk the introduction of outside pathogens. If you are picking up an animal, we kindly ask that you remain at the designated meet point and we will bring your goat to you. Please also note that for bio-security reasons, goats cannot return to our farm once they have left. We offer no warranties, written or implied.
Transfer of Ownership
Transfer of ownership will be completed once full payment has been received and the animal has left our farm. All necessary paperwork for registration and transfer will be provided at this time.
Post-Sale Support
We are happy to answer any questions and offer support after the sale to help ensure a smooth transition for your new goat. We encourage buyers to stay in touch and share updates on their animal's progress.
